Versus Training Combat Rounds timer mid-session: Round 1 of 5, WORK phase at 02:52 inside a circular progress ring, with Pause and Stop controls below and the Apple Watch handoff indicator in the top right.

You came here because

Most apps treat fighting like cardio.

  • Most apps don't understand a sparring round: sRPE, rest interval, technique attempts, rounds lost.
  • Strength apps and conditioning apps live in separate silos. Your fight camp lives in a Notes file.
  • The "AI coach" in most apps gives you a generic Z2 run for fight week. Versus knows you weigh in Saturday.

The features that matter to you

Built for the round, the camp, the cut.

Skill tree, 17 martial arts

BJJ, MMA, Muay Thai, boxing, wrestling, karate, judo, sambo, kickboxing, taekwondo, krav maga, capoeira, kali escrima, lethwei, savate, Jeet Kune Do, catch wrestling. Drill it, log it, see it.

Combat round timer

Native Apple Watch app. Rounds, rest, sRPE prompt, live HR. Save lands on phone before you towel off.

Voice logging

"Three rounds rolling, got a triangle, sRPE seven." Parsed in seconds. No tapping through five screens.

Fight week + weight-cut tracking

Water, sodium, sauna logging. Weigh-in countdown. Sensei flags if your cut is on or off pace.

Sparring debrief (Elite)

Tell Sensei what happened in your roll. It tags positions, attempts, finishes. Builds your scouting file over time.

Opponent scouting (Elite)

Paste tape links or notes. Sensei builds a gameplan grounded in your skill tree and theirs.

Pure grapplers

Don't fight, just roll? Still your app.

If you train BJJ or compete in grappling but don't see yourself as a "fighter" (IBJJF, ADCC, no-gi, judo), the same product fits. The skill tree maps BJJ position by position: guard, mount, side control, back, half guard, escapes, sweeps, submissions. Tag what you drilled or hit. Progression visible over weeks, not just sessions.

Belt tracking and stripes are built in. Competition record stored by submission type. AI Sparring Debrief (Elite) distinguishes a setup from a finish: "What's my triangle conversion rate?" is a real query.

Skip Fight Week if you don't cut for matches. Everything else applies.

How to read the numbers

What readiness and ACWR are, and what they aren't.

  • Readiness is an estimate. It's computed from HRV, sleep, resting heart rate, and recent training load pulled from Apple Health. A guide for how to train today, not a verdict.
  • ACWR is a workload signal. The acute:chronic workload ratio compares your recent training to your rolling baseline. It shows when volume is ramping quickly. Nothing more.
  • It does not diagnose or predict injury. Versus is a training-history and planning tool, not a medical device. It won't tell you whether you're hurt or about to be. Listen to your body and a qualified coach or clinician.
